A Rusagonis man who refused to speak with a court by telephone from a police station seemed like he was a fog when he was brought before a judge in person to face new charges Thursday.

The Fredericton Police Force charged Stewart Leslie Edward Hache, 27, of Wilsey Road, on Thursday with counts of assaulting Fredericton police Const. Taylor Allen, attempting to take Allen’s sidearm without consent and assaulting the officer by choking, suffocating or strangling her.

The charges allege an incident Wednesday in the city.
