Resolution eyed in Legion-theft case
Counsel for Harold Brian Nelligan, 58, of Fredericton, seeks to discuss case with prosecution
The defence lawyer representing a Fredericton man accused of stealing from the Royal Canadian Legion is aiming to resolve the case without trial, court heard Wednesday.
Harold Brian Nelligan, 58, of Barton Crescent, was back in Fredericton provincial court Wednesday to answer to a criminal charge, and this time, he was accompanied by newly retained defence counsel.
Nelligan is charged with theft of less than $5,000 in cash from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 4 on Queen Street on March 7. He was previously employed as a bartender at the facility.
