Psych exam ordered for liquor-store suspect
Liban Ali Ahmed-Shardi, 31, of no fixed address, accused of assaults with glass pipe
A Fredericton man charged with attacking two liquor-store employees with a weapon Friday has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric assessment to determine his mental state at the time.
Liban Ali Ahmed-Shardi, 31, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video conference from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Monday afternoon for a bail hearing.

He was arrested after a violent incident at the NB Liquor store in the York Street Train Station shortly after 7 p.m. Friday.
Ahmed-Shardi was originally charged in weekend remand court with one court of assault causing bodily harm, but the Fredericton Police Force laid replacement charges Monday.
