A psychiatric report on a Lincoln man’s criminal responsibility for setting a fire at a Fredericton hospital didn’t go far enough on the issue, a court said last week.

Robert Mason Legge, 68, of Prestige Lane, was back in Fredericton provincial court Thursday for a hearing to determine if he might be exempt from criminal responsibility due to a mental disorder at the time of two alleged offences.

He’s accused of attempting to cause damage by fire to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital assaulting April Knowles using a weapon - namely, fire - both on Dec. 12.

The defence previously sought a psychiatric assessment on the criminal-responsibility issue, and a psychiatrist’s report was filed with the court.
