‘Prolific offenders’ busted with loot - RCMP
Olivia Young, 32, of Keswick Ridge, sentenced to jail time following Sept. 24 arrest, Mounties report, while 26-year-old man arrested on warrants to face charges at later date
Police arrested two suspects last week in connection with a rash of crimes in the Nackawic and Millville areas, the RCMP reports, and one of them has already been sentenced to jail.
The Keswick detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Friday morning about the arrests of a man and a woman, both from Keswick Ridge, last week as a result of several ongoing criminal investigations.
“On Sept. 24, 2025, members of the Keswick RCMP received numerous reports from community members regarding two prolific offenders in the Nackawic and Millville areas,” the release said.
“Later that day, police located the two individuals behind a business in the Burtts Corner’s area. After a short foot pursuit, police arrested a 26-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, both from Keswick Ridge, in connection with the investigation.”
There were multiple outstanding arrest warrants for the pair, the police reported.
“As a result of the arrests, police searched several abandoned properties and were able to recover a stolen side-by-side, some power tools and outdoor equipment,” the release said.
The RCMP identified the woman as Olivia Young, and it noted that she was held in custody following her arrest.
She appeared in Fredericton provincial court Sept. 29 and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, the release said.
The male suspect was also remanded on the outstanding warrants, but since the RCMP hasn’t filed charges against him yet in relation to this incident, it didn’t name him.
The Mounties said the investigations into the numerous complaints the detachment received in the case are ongoing.
An RCMP spokesperson said the case serves as a reminder about how people can protect their property and assist police in the events of thefts.
“It’s a good idea to record serial numbers and take photos of your belongings,” Keswick RCMP Sgt. André Lauzon said in the release.
“When stolen items are recovered during an investigation, having that information makes it much easier for us to return property to its rightful owner.”
Anyone with additional information that could assist in the investigation is urged to call the Keswick RCMP at 506-357-4300.
