A Fredericton construction firm focusing on power-line projects admitted to a WorkSafe New Brunswick charge stemming from an October 2023 structure collapse that injured two labourers.

The Greystone Group of Companies Inc., based in Grand Falls, was scheduled to stand trial in Fredericton provincial court Monday on a charge under the Occupational Health and Safety Act alleging it failed to ensure a contractor it had hired complied with safety regulations.

Crown prosecutor Patricia Gillett said Monday that the matter had been resolved, albeit in an unconventional way.

A representative with WorkSafe NB, the province’s workplace-safety watchdog agency, filed a new, replacement charge against the court, but against Tri-Wire Line Construction Inc., a Greystone-affiliated business based in Fredericton.
