An illegal weed and hash dispensary was raided not once but twice in 2024 by provincial enforcement officers, court heard last week, and the people found working there got fined for their jobs.

Floyd Donald MacIntosh, 47, of Mazerolle Settlement Road in Mazerolle Settlement, and Julie Dawn Hellmeister, 42, of Barton Crescent in Fredericton, previously pleaded not guilty to counts of possessing cannabis for the purpose of distribution, and they were scheduled to stand trial in early April on those allegations.

However, their cases were brought before Fredericton provincial court early on Friday, and their lawyer, Ron Morris, the defence had reached a resolution with the Crown.

MacIntosh and Hellmeister each pleaded guilty, and the matters proceeded directly to sentencing for the violations of the federal Cannabis Act.
