Police seek tips on violent home invasion
Woman assaulted Friday morning during break-in on Fredericton’s north side, cops report
Fredericton police are on the hunt for a male suspect in a violent break-in early Friday morning, and they’re hoping members of the public can help with the investigation.
The Fredericton Police Force issued a news release Friday night about a violent incident that occurred earlier in the day.
“On Jan. 16, 2026, at approximately 6:45 a.m., members of the Fredericton Police Force Patrol division responded to a report of a break and enter involving an assault on an adult female on Fredericton’s north side,” the release said.
“No arrest has been made at this time, and the file remains actively under investigation.”
Police are seeking a male suspect, described as Caucasian, about 5’10” in height with long, thin hair.
The force warned residents to be aware of their surroundings, to keep doors and windows secured, and to report suspicious activity to police.
