Police probe Southwood Park break-ins
Investigators seek tips, video to help ID Caucasian male suspect in New Year's Eve crimes
A male suspect is being sought in a pair of New Year’s Eve break-ins in the Southwood Park area of Fredericton’s south side, reports the city police force.
The Fredericton Police Force issued a news release Friday afternoon about two break-ins that occurred in close proximity in time and location Tuesday evening - New Year’s Eve.
“On Dec. 31 at approximately 5:50 p.m., members of the Fredericton Police Force (FPF) patrol division responded to a report of a break and enter in the Southwood Park area (Wetmore Road-Pugsley Street). A second, similar report was received shortly after,” the release said.
“Officers contained the area and deployed the FPF K9 Unit to assist in the search. No arrests have been made at this time, and the files remain under investigation.”
The police force reported that it’s seeking a male suspect, Caucasian, who was wearing a black jacket, light blue jeans, boots and a toque at the time of the offences.
It’s asking area residents who doorbell-camera, CCTV or dash-cam footage from between 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday to check their footage for any suspicious activity and to share it with police.
