Body found Monday was Montana Solomon, 28, of Fredericton, says city police force
The Fredericton Police Force has identified the remains found near a northside trail Monday afternoon as a woman from the capital.
The force issued a followup release Tuesday afternoon, announcing that the body found near Two Nations Crossing on the city’s north side Monday was that of Montana Solomon, 28, of Fredericton.
“Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and reassure the public there is no ongoing concern for community safety as it is believed this was an isolated incident,” the release said.
“No arrests have been made at this time. An autopsy is pending.”
The police force reported Monday that a heavy officer presence along Two Nations Crossing beginning Monday afternoon and into the evening was in response to the discovery of human remains.
A wooded area in the northside neighbourhood was cordoned off.
The force said Monday it was investigating the woman’s death as a homicide.
