An Oromocto man facing an indictable charge of sexual assault, alleged to have occurred in Fredericton last year, asked for his case to be postponed this week so he could retain counsel.
Keegan Garrick Smit, 23, of Oneida Street, made his initial appearance in Fredericton provincial court Wednesday to answer to an allegation of sexual assault against an unnamed adult complainant in Fredericton on July 14, 2024.
