An Ontario woman who refused to provide a breath sample to police after she crashed her car into a downtown street sign earned a hefty fine this week for the offence.

Abigail Margaret Lynch, 27, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Tuesday to answer to alternate charges of driving while impaired and refusing a police demand for a sample of her breath.

She pleaded guilty to the refusal charge.
