A Fredericton man who succeeded in getting a lenient sentence for several offences this summer so he could go to an in-patient rehab clinic didn’t end up going, and he’s in custody again, accused of a new crime.

Jesse William Woodcock, 20, of Forest Hill Road, pleaded guilty earlier this year to a variety of petty crimes.

They included theft of an iPhone on Nov. 20; unlawful entry at a vacant rental unit on Main Street on Nov. 27; property damage at the Ironwood Resource Centre, threats to security guards there, and breach of a police undertaking Feb. 6.

During a sentencing hearing this summer, the Crown and defence both recommended a conditional sentence to be served in the community, though the prosecution sought a seven-month order while Woodcock’s counsel argued for four months.
