N.S. man accused of sex assault in Chipman

A Halifax man, appearing in Fredericton court Wednesday from a police-station cellblock, was released on conditions and direction to return before a judge next month to answer to a sex-crime charge.

Adam Sheppard, 32, of South Park Street in Halifax, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by telephone from the RCMP detachment cellblock in Oromocto on Wednesday to face a newly laid charge, alleging an offence in New Brunswick.

He’s accused of sexually assaulting Rebecca Pelkey and sexually assaulting her by choking Aug. 8, 2024, in Chipman.
