Murder suspect’s drug charges stayed
No explanation given for halting trafficking prosecution against Erica Lea Ann Blyth, 41
A Newcastle Creek woman in custody on a first-degree murder charge won’t stand trial on unrelated drug-trafficking allegations dating back two years.
Erica Lea Ann Blyth, 41, of Wasson Road in Newcastle Creek near Minto, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by telephone Thursday, represented by Fredericton defence lawyer Emily Cochrane.
Thursday’s proceedings were for April 4, 2022, charges of possessing methamphetamine, cocaine, hydromorphone (Dilaudid) and psilocybin (magic mushrooms), all for the purpose of trafficking.
