Mounties probe Pepper Creek propane theft
RCMP’s Minto detachment releases security stills of male suspect from Sept. 29 heist
The Mounties are determined to get their man - and this man has gas.
The Minto detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Saturday about a theft investigation dating back two months, and it’s hoping the public can help to identify a suspect.
“On Sept. 29, 2024, at approximately 1 a.m., an individual approached the outside of a business in Richibucto Road, broke into a cage and stole seven tanks of propane,” the release said.

Richibucto Road is the area on the north side of Fredericton better known as Pepper Creek. It was only recently amalgamated into the capital city, so the RCMP still delivers policing services to the area.
The RCMP released photo stills taken from video-surveillance footage at the site in the hope someone might recognize the man, despite the lower resolution of the pictures.
“The individual is described as a man in his 40's with facial hair,” the release said. “At the time of the theft, he was wearing a brown hoodie.”
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or who has information that could help aid the investigation is urged to call the Minto RCMP detachment at 506-327-1820.
Those wishing to provide information anonymously can do so through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), downloading the secure P3 Mobile App or visiting Secure Web Tips online at www.crimenb.ca.
