Missing N.L. man could be in N.B.
Newfoundland and Labrador RCMP seeks tips on whereabouts of Justin Cormier, 38
A Newfoundland and Labrador man who’s been missing for nine months might be in New Brunswick, and police are hoping anyone who’s seen him will let them know of his whereabouts.
The Newfoundland and Labrador RCMP issued an advisory Wednesday that its New Brunswick counterpart shared because of a possible link in this province.

They reported that police are continuing a search for Justin Cormier, 38, of Caplin Cove, N.L., who hasn’t been seen since May 15.
“Police have received new information about a possible sighting and an updated photo, and are asking anyone with additional information to come forward,” the news release said.
“A witness reported a potential sighting of Justin Cormier at Tony’s Lounge in Clarenville [N.L.] in late June or early July 2025. The witness observed the same person a couple of days later outside of the Irving Gas Station on the Trans-Canada Highway in Clarenville, N.L.”
The individual described the man as having a scruffy beard and reported that he was carrying a black backpack, wearing a white shirt, a zip-up jacket and dark coloured shorts, it said.
“Police believe that Justin Cormier may have been looking for a ride to St. John’s,” the release said.
“There is nothing to indicate foul play at this time. Since his disappearance, police have followed up on several leads and possible sightings; however Cormier remains a missing person.”
The reason the missing-person alert was shared in New Brunswick is because although Cormier was a N.L. resident at the time of his disappearance, he had lived in this province previously.
“He had also recently worked in Kitimat, B.C.,” the release said.
Anyone with information on Cormier’s whereabouts is urged to call their local policing agency or the Clarenville RCMP detachment at 709-466-3211.
Those wishing to provide information anonymously can do so through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), downloading the secure P3 Mobile App or visiting Secure Web Tips online at N.L. CrimeStoppers.
