Two-vehicle collision claimed life of 53-year-old driver of SUV, Western Valley RCMP reports
A two-vehicle crash in Nortondale, near Woodstock, has claimed the life of a woman from Millville, the RCMP reports.
The Western Valley region detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Tuesday afternoon about a fatal collision that occurred the day before.
“On Oct. 20, 2025, at approximately 8:20 a.m., members of the Western Valley region RCMP, Ambulance New Brunswick and Millville Fire Department responded to a report of a two-vehicle, head-on collision on Route 585 in Nortondale,” it said.
Nortondale is about 30 kilometres east of Woodstock, and about 70 km northwest of Fredericton.
“The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of a sport utility vehicle (SUV), travelling westbound, crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a pickup truck, travelling eastbound,” the release said.
A 53-year-old woman from Millville, near Nortondale, who was the sole occupant of the SUV, was taken to hospital but later died from her injuries, the RCMP reported, while the pickup driver sustained minor injuries.
An RCMP traffic reconstructionist attended the scene as well and is assisting with the ongoing investigation, police said, noting that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the woman’s exact cause of death.
