A Fredericton man’s lawsuit against the Multicultural Association of Fredericton (MCAF) was without merit and had no identifiable cause of action, a judge wrote recently in a ruling dismissing the case.

Andrew Saa Gbongbor filed a notice of action and statement of claim against the association and two of its executives - executive director Lisa Banford DeGante and human-resources director Nikol Ralcheva - in July 2023 alleging he was wrongfully dismissed from his job with the organization.

The plaintiff, an immigrant from Sierra Leone, also contended his dismissal was the result of racially driven discrimination and harassment.
