A Fredericton man facing weapons, driving and stolen-car charges cursed and ranted when he was denied conditional release, flipping off the camera during a virtual bail hearing last week.

Joseph Emile Breau, 29, of Forest Hill Drive, appeared in Fredericton provincial court on camera Thursday for a virtual bail hearing, conducted online on Microsoft Teams.

He faces Feb. 9 charges of possessing a knife for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, possessing ammunition (a 22-mag round) while prohibited by a court order, breaching a weapons prohibition, possessing a stolen 2013 Honda Accord belonging to Jenny Arbeau, driving dangerously, fleeing from police, breaching a court-ordered driving prohibition and breaching his probation.
