Impaired driver smashed into barrier
Nicole E. Ward, 39, of Oromocto, had triple legal limit in system when she wrecked her car
An Oromocto woman who ran into a concrete barrier, blocking traffic on a Fredericton bridge, had three times the legal limit of alcohol in her bloodstream at the time, court heard Monday.
Nicole E. Ward, 39, of Doherty Drive, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Monday along with defence lawyer T.J. Burke to answer to a June 9 charge of having an elevated blood-alcohol limit within two hours of driving.
She pleaded guilty.
Crown prosecutor Daniel Standing said the charge arose after a Fredericton police officer responded to a traffic complaint at about 10:30 p.m. on June 9.
