An indigent man with a history of drug addiction complained Friday about the slow pace of his case on a long list of criminal charges - including sex-related counts - and claimed he has big bucks in the bank.

Robert (“Robbie”) Keith MacDonald, 49, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Friday, scheduled for election of mode of trial and pleas on almost 20 charges, alleging a wide variety of offences.

Among the most serious of the charges are unlawfully entering a northside residence and breaching his probation May 29; and sexually assaulting a minor, inviting that child to touch him for a sexual purpose, touching the minor for a sexual purpose and breaching probation Aug. 10, all in Fredericton.
