Homicide suspect admits to accessory charge
Samantha Mary Butler 24, of Rusagonis, originally charged with second-degree murder in 2023 shooting death of Lucas Richard Solomon Polchies; sentencing set for January
A Rusagonis woman will be sentenced early in the new year after pleading guilty to being an accessory to manslaughter after the fact, stemming from a shooting death in Lincoln more than two years ago.
Samantha Mary Butler, 24, of Karen Drive, appeared in the Court of King’s Bench at the Burton Courthouse on Tuesday morning, scheduled for a pre-trial conference.
She faced a charge of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Lucas Richard Solomon Polchies.
He was killed along Route 102 in Lincoln in the early-morning hours of March 12, 2023.
But Monday’s proceedings wasn’t really for a pre-trial conference but to finally move the case against Butler toward a conclusion.
