A Harvey man will be sentenced early in the new year for firearms offences he perpetrated while working at a gun store after changing his pleas to guilty on several counts last week.

Paul Glenwood Martin, 60, of Tweedside Road, was scheduled to stand trial for five days in February on numerous charges, alleging thefts and illegal firearms transactions between Aug. 3, 2018, and April 7, 2024.

However, the defendant and his lawyer, defence counsel Robert Didgon, were back in Fredericton provincial court Nov. 12 ahead of schedule.

Court heard the trial wouldn’t be proceeding next year.
