A Harvey man who absconded with firearms, optical scopes and other accessories over several years while working at a McAdam store isn’t headed to jail, as a judge granted him a conditional sentence Wednesday.

Paul Glenwood Martin, 60, of Tweedside Road, pleaded guilty last fall to stealing firearms, ammunition and optical devices belonging to Ross Faulkner, the owner of the Gun Dealer in McAdam, between Aug. 3, 2018, and April 7, 2024.

He also had admitted to illegal transfer of firearms to three men during that period as well.

Martin was back in Fredericton provincial court Wednesday for his sentencing hearing.
