Halifax man denies Chipman sex offences
Adam Sheppard, 32, gets March 2027 trial on counts of sex assault, sex assault by choking
A Halifax man denied allegations Friday that he sexually assaulted a woman in Chipman in the summer of 2024 and that he choked her while doing so.
Adam Sheppard, 32, of South Park Street in Halifax, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by telephone Friday to answer to Aug. 8, 2024, charges of sexually assaulting Rebecca Pelkey and sexually assaulting her by choking in Chipman.
Though publication bans are typically requested in sexual-offence cases, the Crown specifically didn’t seek one in the Sheppard matter when the charges were originally laid.
