Get ready for deep freeze this weekend
Wind chills will plunge all of New Brunswick into extreme cold, prompting weather alert
You’ll want to get out the big parka and electric socks, because New Brunswick is going to have a bitterly cold weekend.
Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a cold warning early Friday morning, advising that temperatures throughout New Brunswick are going to plummet this weekend.

“A prolonged period of very cold wind chills is expected,” the alert stated, noting it’s set to begin Saturday morning and continue until Sunday morning.
“A northwesterly flow of arctic air will bring cold conditions starting Saturday morning. Wind chills are expected to moderate a bit Sunday afternoon.”
Wind-chill levels are expected to hit between -30 and -37 C, with the coldest spots being in northwestern areas of the province.
“Cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frostbite and hypothermia,” the advisory said.
“Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Dress warmly. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.”
