Geary man faces sexual-abuse charges
34-year-old defendant accused of sexual offences involving two children between 2022-2025
A Geary man is set to return to court next month to elect mode of trial and enter pleas on five charges alleging he engaged in sexual activity with two minors in recent years.
The 34-year-old defendant appeared in Fredericton provincial court Monday with Fredericton lawyer Shane Hill, who was acting as an agent for defence counsel T.J. Burke.
The accused faces charges alleging he sexually assaulted a minor between Jan. 1, 2022 and Sept. 1, 2025; that he touched that complainant for a sexual purpose and invited that child to touch him for a sexual purpose, both between Jan. 1, 2022, and Nov. 6, 2024; that he invited a second minor to touch themselves for a sexual purpose between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2023; and that while in a position of trust and/or authority over the first complainant between Nov. 7, 2024, and Sept. 1, he again touched that child for a sexual purpose.
