Gagetown man missing more than a year
RCMP renews call for tips on whereabouts of Brent Dawson, 31, last seen January 2025
A Gagetown man who went missing in January 2025 still hasn’t been found, the Mounties said Wednesday, as they renewed their plea for information from the public to help find him.
The Oromocto detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Jan. 17, 2025, seeking tips from the public on the whereabouts of Brent Dawson, 31, of Gagetown.
That release said he went missing in the village after last being seen at 1 a.m. Jan. 16, 2025.
The police advisory was issued the following day.
A couple of days later, police officers and New Brunswick ground search and rescue team members conducted a search for the missing man in the area Jan. 1, 2025.
In a new public plea Wednesday, the RCMP reported that the search is ongoing.
“Police are still trying to locate missing Brent Dawson, who was last seen on Jan. 16, 2025, in Gagetown,” it said.
“Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have information about his disappearance. Any detail, even something that may seem minor or insignificant, could be the key to bringing Brent Dawson home.”
A year ago, police were also seeking to speak with anyone who’d had contact with Dawson before his disappearance.
Those with information about Dawson are urged to call the Oromocto detachment at 506-357-4300.
