Fraud charge filed after time limit - defence
Counsel for Qudus Gbenga Saula, 22, of Fredericton, says flawed information against her client should be withdrawn as summary count was laid more than year after alleged offence
Defence counsel for a Fredericton man accused of fraud pointed out Wednesday that not only was the wrong date listed on the charge against her client, but it was laid in court too late.
Qudus Gbenga Saula, 22, of Canada Street, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Wednesday, accompanied by defence lawyer Spencer MacInnis.
The charge laid by the Fredericton Police Force in court against Saula defrauded Mishka Lawson of less than $5,000 in cash June 26, 2025.
