A Nashwaak Bridge man’s trial on an allegation of committing an indecent act almost two years ago had to be postponed this week because it was discovered the main witnesses had moved out of province.

Jonathon Doiron, 41, of Route 148, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Tuesday, scheduled to stand trial on an indictable charge alleging he exposed his genitals to a minor for a sexual purpose in Hanwell between Aug. 1 and 31, 2024.

The identity of the underage complainant is protected by a court-ordered publication ban.

Crown prosecutor Brett Stanford requested the trial be adjourned, explaining that the RCMP had been unable to serve the complainant and that minor’s mother with subpoenas in time for the trial.
