Drunk driver passed cars on solid line
Ian Wesley Jackson, 51, of Mill Cove, N.S., had more than three times legal limit in system
After he illegally passed cars in Geary doing 140 kilometres per hour last year, police discovered a Nova Scotia motorist had more than three times the allowable limit of booze in his system.
Ian Wesley Jackson, 51, of Mill Cove, N.S., appeared in Fredericton provincial court Wednesday and pleaded guilty to a count of having an elevated blood-alcohol level within two hours of driving May 1, 2023.
Crown prosecutor Kyle Horsman said the charge arose after a witness called police on that day to report a blue Ford Edge was passing other cars in Geary across a double solid line at about 140 km per hour.
The witness said the vehicle then did a U-turn on the highway and then parked on the side of the road, court heard.
