A judge expressed concern over a recommendation for a non-custodial sentence for a Fredericton man who drove drunk and fled from police at high speed through a fast-food drive-thru.

Jeffrey Edward MacPherson, 41, of Murray Avenue, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Friday to answer to several charges.

He pleaded guilty to counts of having an elevated blood-alcohol level within two hours of driving, fleeing from police in a vehicle and resisting arrest.

Crown prosecutor Daniel Standing said officers with the Fredericton Police Force were dispatched to Dooly’s on Prospect Street the night of March 24 to a report of family members causing a disturbance.
