Drug-trafficking pleas postponed
Shawn Patrick Simmonds, 50, of Beaver Dam, accused of fentanyl, cocaine, meth charges
After a false start to the case last month, a Beaver Dam man made his first appearance this week on allegations he possessed powerful narcotics for trafficking purposes in Fredericton last summer.
The Fredericton Police force laid indictable charges late last year against Shawn Patrick Simmonds, 50, formerly of Smythe Street in Fredericton but more recently of Kenneth Street in Beaver Dam.
They allege he possessed fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking July 3; and possessed cocaine and methamphetamine for trafficking purposes, possessed proceeds of crime ($484 in Canadian currency and $80 US) and operated a motor vehicle while impaired by a drug July 23.
