Drug, rifle suspect denied bail

A man accused of firearms crimes in August and drug offences in September will remain in custody until his trials in provincial court conclude.

Keith Mitchell Reid, 35, formerly of Hartland, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Thursday for a bail hearing.

He faces Aug. 14 counts of possession of a Winchester 30-calibre rifle for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, careless use of that rifle, occupation of a motor vehicle knowing that rifle was in there, possession of the firearm without a licence, resisting arrest and possession of methamphetamine.

He’s also charged with Sept. 5 counts of possession of meth and hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking, impaired driving, resisting arrest and breach of a release order.
