A homeless man is now facing almost 20 charges after two new ones were laid against him, but he seemed more focused Friday on the presence of a man and his dog in court whom he didn’t want there.

Robert (“Robbie”) Keith MacDonald, 49, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Friday.

He was denied bail earlier this month and will remain in custody pending the outcome of a long list of charges against him.

Judge David Walker told him Friday that there were two new counts before the court, alleging she stole merchandise from Winners in Fredericton and thereby breached his probation May 14.

That brings the total number of current charges against MacDonald to 19.
