Second police operation affects south side
Fredericton police report officers arrested two separate suspects after two incidents Friday
Less than two hours after a police operation shut down a northside neighbourhood Friday afternoon, Fredericton officers were on the scene of another situation, this time on the capital’s south side.
The Fredericton Police Force issued advisories Friday afternoon and evening as its officers contended with two situations that prompted separate “police operations.”
The first alert came just before 2 p.m. Friday, advising that officers were “conducting an operation in the Perry Court area.”
The force later reported it had also shut down Bunker Street in the same Marysville neighbourhood, about a block away from Marysville Place, and it directed people to remain indoors.
“[The force] remains on scene conducting a police operation on Perry Court on the city’s north side,” it said in a Facebook post. “Residents are asked to shelter in place. This means staying inside.”
In a final update at 4:25 p.m., the police force announced the situation had been resolved and that it was safe.
“The Fredericton Police Force has concluded their operation on Perry Court. The shelter-in-place advisory is lifted, but police remain on scene. One person has been taken into custody,” it said.
About an hour and a half later, the police force announced it had another police operation underway on the other side of the city.
“Fredericton Police Force officers are currently on scene conducting a police operation in the Inglewood Drive area,” it said, referring to the Sunshine Gardens neighbourhood on the city’s south side.
“Please avoid the area to allow officers to safely do their work.”
Twenty-five minutes later, the force announced that second situation had been resolved as well.
“The Fredericton Police Force has concluded their operation on Inglewood Drive,” it said at 6:25 p.m. Friday. “One person has been taken into custody.”

How can you describe these incidents as noteworthy , AND resolved ... and then ask if they were coordinated and cooperative ???
No sense you make ...
Good reporting on the dual operations. Two separate incidents resolved within hours of each other is definitely noteworthy for the city. The shelter-in-place advisory on the northside was handled well by FPD. I'm curious if these were coordinated investigations or just coincidental timing. Appreciate the clear timeline breakdown, makes it easy to follow what actualy happened.
