A man from a rural area between Fredericton and Saint John denied he stole copper wiring and improperly handled a firearm last month, and the remanded suspect will stand trial later this year.

Robert Gordon Joseph King, 36, of Clarendon, located about 70 kilometres southeast of Fredericton and 50 km northwest of Saint John, appeared in person and in custody Wednesday to answer to four charges.

Defence counsel Bronwyn Mooney said her client was pleading not guilty to Jan. 14 charges theft of copper wiring, possession of the stolen copper, careless storage of a firearm and possession of a shotgun without a licence, all in Clarendon.
