A northern New Brunswick construction company was fined $3,000 on Friday for a safety lapse on a Fredericton jobsite last year that saw two workers seriously injured in a structural collapse.

J.P.M. Construction Inc., based in Drummond, about 200 kilometres north of Fredericton, pleaded guilty in September to a charge under the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act for failing to provide a fall-protection system and to ensure its use in Fredericton on Oct. 12, 2023.
