A Fredericton home-design and construction business that denied charges alleging workplace-safety violations after a fatal 2021 incident admitted this week to one of the charges.

New View Designs by Laurie Cole Inc., located on St. Mary’s Street in Fredericton, pleaded not guilty in Fredericton provincial court in March to three Occupational Health and Safety Act charges laid by WorkSafeNB, the province’s workplace safety watchdog.

Those counts stemmed from a Dec. 6, 2021, collapse of a scaffolding structure at a Fredericton construction site that led to the death of a supervisor working for New View Designs.
