City woman accused of producing fentanyl

A Fredericton woman accused of producing a deadly and highly-addictive opiate and possessing it for trafficking purposes couldn’t make her initial court appearance because she’s in hospital.

Kaija Stevens, 19, of Lincoln Road, made her initial appearance in Fredericton provincial court Friday, but did so by telephone from the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.

She faces charges alleging she produced fentanyl and possessed it for the purpose of trafficking in the capital July 29.
