City man to answer to sex-assault allegation

A Fredericton man sought an adjournment last week of a sexual-assault charge to see how his application for legal aid pans out.
Paul Hampton, 31, of Wilsey Road, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Dec. 8 to face a summary count of sexual assault, alleged to have occurred in the capital Aug. 5, 2024.
There’s a court-ordered publication ban in effect protecting the identity of the complainant.
