City man held on break-in, assault charges
Martin Robert Tyc, 37, of Fredericton, is still on probation for violent offences from 2024
A Fredericton man who’s on probation for a violent assault on his former girlfriend in 2024 was arrested this week and charged with violence toward another woman in the capital.
Martin Robert Tyc, 37, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by telephone from the Fredericton police station cellblock Friday afternoon.
He was charged with counts of assault on Carly Martin; assault on her by choking, suffocating or strangling her; break and enter into a Charlotte Street apartment with intent to commit an offence; mischief causing damage to a window at that apartment; and breach of probation.
The charges all allege events in Fredericton on Thursday.
