City man denies fentanyl, meth, coke charges

A Fredericton man accused of possessing narcotics for trafficking purposes and firearms offences denied the allegations Wednesday, and his trials were set for next sprung and summer.
Robert Lee Nagle, 55, of Highland Avenue, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by telephone from a custodial facility Wednesday, scheduled to elect mode of trial and enter pleas to charges from August and September.

The main counts allege that he possessed fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking; possessed a bolt-action .303 rifle for a purpose dangerous to the public peace; possessed it without a licence; stored it carelessly; possessed the rifle knowing he didn’t have a licence for it; breached a court-ordered prohibition against possessing firearms; and breached the same order by possessing a homemade taser.
Those counts stem from events in Fredericton on Aug. 21.
