A Fredericton man facing allegations of assaulting a woman last week and breaking into a downtown apartment postponed his bail hearing twice this week and ultimate sought to move on to plea court.

Martin Robert Tyc, 37, was remanded last week pending a bail hearing on Jan. 22 charges of assaulting Carly Martin; assaulting her by choking, suffocating or strangling her; breaking into a Charlotte Street apartment with intent to commit an offence; causing property damage to a window at that apartment; and breaching his probation.
