Child-porn stash nets two-year prison term
Drake Antoni Brayall, 28, of Fredericton, had hoped for mandatory minimum of one year
A Fredericton man busted for child-pornography possession after numerous online platforms reported activity to the authorities was sentenced to two years in prison last week.
Drake Antoni Brayall, 28, of Evergreen Street, appeared before Judge Natalie LeBlanc in Fredericton provincial court Friday to hear her decision on sentence.
He pleaded guilty this spring to an April 5, 2023, count of possession of child pornography.
During an earlier sentencing hearing, defence lawyer Patrick Hurley had argued the mandatory minimum sentence of one year in jail was appropriate in his client’s case, but the Crown pushed for a prison term of two years.
