An Oromocto woman scheduled for trial Monday on two assaults and a child-abandonment allegation admitted to the former, but it’s expected the Crown will withdraw the latter charge after sentencing.

Natasha Ashley Kelly, 35, of Finnamore Street, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Monday accompanied by her defence counsel legal-aid staff lawyer Michael Mallory.

She was scheduled to stand trial Monday on Aug. 22, 2024, charges of assault causing bodily harm to Erika Polchies, assault on Adam Sacobie, dangerous driving and endangering her then-one-year-old son’s life by abandoning him at Welamukotuk (Oromocto) First Nation.
