Charity-store burglar gets 50 months

A judge sentenced a Nackawic-area man who looted areas businesses, damaging the premises in his wake, to more than four years in prison Wednesday.
Austin Henry Barrett-Soucy, 26, of Campbell Settlement Road in Hartfield, near Nackawic and about 70 kilometres west of Fredericton, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video conference from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre to hear Judge Mélanie Poirier LeBlanc’s decision on sentence.
The offender pleaded guilty last fall to numerous crimes in the Woodstock and Fredericton areas last year.
