Capital-region schools closed due to storm
Anglophone School District West, Francophone Sud facilities shuttered due to weather
Schools in Fredericton, Woodstock and surrounding communities are closed Monday due to the inclement winter weather.
Anglophone School District West announced early Monday morning that all schools in weather zones 3 through 9 are closed Monday due to the winter storm and accompanying road conditions.

However, schools in weather zones 1 and 2 - which cover more northern areas of the district, namely Edmundston and Grand Falls, Plaster Rock and Perth-Andover - will operate as normal.
Schools in the French school district for the capital region - Francophone Sud - are also closed Monday, the district announced on its website.
The southern stretch of New Brunswick, which includes Fredericton and nearby communities, remains subject to a snowfall warning Monday, due to a forecast period of snow with accumulation totalling 20 to 30 centimetres expected.
It’s expected to continue until early Tuesday morning, Environment and Climate Change Canada’s weather service said in an updated alert at 4:41 a.m. Monday.
“Snow is expected to ease off slightly [Monday] morning before intensifying again [Monday night],” the advisory said.
“Strong winds gusting up to 50 kilometres per hour [Monday] will give reduced visibilities in blowing snow over open and exposed areas.”
Motorists are advised to take care on the roads.
