A Burtts Corner man is headed to trial, likely next year, after denying allegations he failed to tend to the needs of a child in his care and confined that minor unlawfully a few years ago.

The 42-year-old man from Burtts Corner appeared in Fredericton provincial court Monday with defence lawyer Alex Pate.

There’s a court-ordered publication ban in place protecting the identity of an underage complainant in the case, so to comply with that order, the Fredericton Independent isn’t naming the defendant either, as he’s the child’s father.
